Traci Lords and Spencer Daniels Nominated for Acting Awards

Traci Lords is nominated for Best Actress and Spencer Daniels is nominated for Best Youth Actor at the Bare Bones Film Festival 2011, being held in Muskogee, OK.  AU PAIR, KANSAS was also nominated for Best Family Picture.  This is the first festival APK has played in that has actor awards, and it’s great to see two of our lead actors get recognized.  Congrats to Traci and Spencer!

AU PAIR, KANSAS selected for Frameline35

Just got notified that APK will play in San Francisco, Saturday, June 25, 9:30 pm at the historic Victoria Theater.  I LOVE Frameline (had two shorts play there in the past.)  Best parties, too!

From Kansas to Cannes!

AU PAIR, KANSAS was just selected for screening at the Cannes Independent Film Festival (the “Slamdance of Cannes”).  CIFF is held at the same time as Festival de Cannes.  AU PAIR, KANSAS will screen at the Palais des Festival, room Palais K at 14:00 on May 18.  This is an official market screening.  Our European premiere.  Be there or be square!

WINNER: AMC Independent Theaters Heartland Best Narrative Feature Award!

Tonight AU PAIR, KANSAS won the award for best Heartland Narrative feature at the AMC Kansas City FilmFest!  Besides a lovely hand-made ceramic award, it comes with a VIP pass to any AMC theater for a year!  It’s been a long road, but now have had first festival screening, and first award.  SUPER GOOD.

World Premiere SOLD OUT!

Saturday night had a fantastic screening of  AU PAIR, KANSAS.  260 seat theater completely sold out.  Amazing screen and sound.  Wonderful reception.  People laughed, people cried.  Friends, family, crew and lots of people who helped on the movie present.  I could not have asked for a better premiere venue or audience!  First time shown on a big screen–it’s a real movie!  Thanks, once more, to everyone who worked or helped on the movie.  Lindsborg ROCKS!

Film Critic says movie is “Kicking butt in Lindsborg, Kansas”!

Film critic and professor John Tibbetts today, during a interview on KXTR (1660 am) in Kansas City, reviewed AU PAIR, KANSAS, and said the movie is a “mystical story that’s targeted for mature families”, “that manages to banish it’s shadow by the time you come to the end”, “AU PAIR, KANSAS is a very, very sweet film”,   “Stands out for it’s stubborn allegiance to the importance of family”  “Beautifully shot–a top ranked american cinematographer could not have done a better job.”   Here’s the radio interview:

World Premiere tickets going fast. Please reserve tickets now. It will sell out.

I’d hate to have someone drive to KC and get there for the premiere and find out there are no tickets left.  I do not have control of this–the festival is handling ticketing.  To reserve tickets, go to:
